Forward an email as an attachment
in GNOME Evolution

Evolution on Linux

βœ“ Directly possible
Why "as an attachment"? This is the only way the invisible technical headers of the original email are preserved. I need exactly those to reliably verify the sender and authenticity. Regular forwarding loses this data.

Step by step

  1. 1 Select the suspicious email in the message list with one click.
  2. 2 Right-click the email and choose "Forward As" β†’ "Attachment". (Alternatively: menu "Message" β†’ "Forward As" β†’ "Attachment"; or the shortcut Ctrl + Alt + F.)
  3. 3 A new email opens with the original message attached.
  4. 4 Enter spam-check-en@moin-moin.it as the recipient and send it.
Fastest way: Strg + Alt + F

Doesn't work? You can also forward the suspicious email normally – the analysis will then be less conclusive, since I'm missing the technical headers. I therefore always recommend forwarding as an attachment whenever possible.
