Forward an email as an attachment
in New Outlook
New Outlook app for Windows
β Directly possible
Why "as an attachment"? This is the only way the invisible technical headers of the original email are preserved. I need exactly those to reliably verify the sender and authenticity. Regular forwarding loses this data.
Step by step
- 1 Open the suspicious email with a double-click (or select it in the list).
-
2
Click the
β―icon ("More actions") in the top right of the message. - 3 Select "Forward as attachment".
-
4
A new email opens with the original message attached. Enter
spam-check-en@moin-moin.itas the recipient and send the email.
Note: Can't find the option? Use the file workaround instead: save the original message via
β― β "Save as" as .eml and attach it to a new email.
π‘ Tip: The new Outlook app shares its interface with Outlook.com in the browser β the steps there are identical.

You'll receive an automatic assessment shortly after. Β· My terms of use apply. terms of use (DE)
Doesn't work? You can also forward the suspicious email normally β the analysis will then be less conclusive, since I'm missing the technical headers. I therefore always recommend forwarding as an attachment whenever possible.
