Forward an email as an attachment
in GMX (Webmail)

GMX in the browser

⚠️ Only possible via a workaround
Why "as an attachment"? This is the only way the invisible technical headers of the original email are preserved. I need exactly those to reliably verify the sender and authenticity. Regular forwarding loses this data.
Note: In some GMX versions the save function isn't directly visible – try switching to the classic view or check the print preview.

Step by step

  1. 1 Open the suspicious email in GMX.
  2. 2 Look in the top right of the opened message for "More" or the three-dot menu β‹― β†’ "Save email as file". The file is saved as .eml.
  3. 3 Write a new, empty email to spam-check-en@moin-moin.it.
  4. 4 Attach the saved .eml file and send it.
πŸ’‘ Tip: It's easier with Thunderbird: set up your GMX mailbox there for free via IMAP and forward the email directly as an attachment.

Doesn't work? You can also forward the suspicious email normally – the analysis will then be less conclusive, since I'm missing the technical headers. I therefore always recommend forwarding as an attachment whenever possible.
