Forward an email as an attachment

⚠️ Only possible via a workaround
Why "as an attachment"? This is the only way the invisible technical headers of the original email are preserved. I need exactly those to reliably verify the sender and authenticity. Regular forwarding loses this data.

Step by step

  1. 1 Open the suspicious email in Proton Mail.
  2. 2 Click the three-dot menu ⋯ in the top right.
  3. 3 Choose "Download" – the message is saved as an .eml file.
  4. 4 Write a new, empty email to spam-check-en@moin-moin.it.
  5. 5 Attach the saved .eml file and send it.
💡 Tip: If you use Proton Bridge, you can open your mailbox in Thunderbird and forward the email conveniently as an attachment from there.
